What’s the Story?

A Group Show of Painters, Photographers, and a Sculptor

November 7 – 30

‘What’s the Story?’ showcases narrative works that are not necessarily clear in their intent. While storytelling is at the heart of most art forms, a movie without a good storyline will fall flat. A storyline that is overly simplistic or just plain dull will also fail to inspire. Yet just the right amount of intent is difficult to attain. In these artworks, it’s not quite clear what the figures are doing or what action they are taking. That gives them an edge and allows viewers to fill in the gaps themselves, which is one of the most satisfying aspects of contemplating art.

This show features the work of:

James Arzente, Sam Blatt, Conrad Brudi, Matthew Cory, Luc Dawson, Sam Dewey, Candace Doyal, Riley Doyle, Abigail Drapkin, Andrea Heimer, Grace Nakahara, Miha Sarani, Susan Springer, and Wendelin Wohlgemuth
